We often get asked the question, “How did this all begin… why did you get passionate about integration of all aspects of life?”
It began in South Africa in the early 1980s when Brett Johnson found himself in three worlds at once: business, local church and missions.
As a businessperson (Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse) and Pastor (leading a local church) and consultant to missions (Youth with a Mission, or YWAM) he noticed a massive under-utilization of people in God’s kingdom. Why was this? Because some roles (ministries) were deemed to be more valuable (spiritual) than others. In Christian circles, pastors had value, missionaries had more value, but businesspeople just had so-called “secular” jobs
